Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh Issa bin Youssef Al-Duhailan, has invited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to perform umrah in Saudi Arabia.
The ambassador met former prime minister Khaleda at her Gulshan office around 8:00pm tonight.
The meeting lasted about an hour and was attended by BNP standing committee member AZM Zahid Hossain and BNP leader Enamul Haque Chowdhury.
After the meeting, Zahid Hossain told reporters, “The Saudi ambassador paid a courtesy visit to meet Khaleda Zia and inquired about her health.”
Khaleda’s personal physician added, “The ambassador asked about her physical condition and the medical care she is receiving.”
This meeting marks Khaleda Zia’s first interaction with a foreign envoy since she was sent to jail on February 8, 2018.
